I had originally wanted to purchase this computer over the Asus UL30LA - X5, but with all of the great reviews the Asus was getting, I decided to go with the Asus. I was not pleased with the build quality with Asus so I returned it for the DM3, and I am glad I did.

This is great little notebook, there are some things I do not like but overall it's a keeper.
Any one who is still deciding on whether or not to grab this, just do it.

Pros:
Excellent screen, very bright, in comparison to my Sony Vaio TZ, it's only a notch lower in brightness and clarity, again this thing was $1500 cheaper.
Build quality. Feels very solid, no creeks or weird noises yet.
No finger prints, other than the touch pad.
Pretty zippy with the 4gig DDR3 and 7200 rpm drive. I have had no problems watching HD youtube and Hulu. when full screen, there was a few stutters but nothing to really discourage me from watching the videos in HD. I am not a gamer but did load up COD 2 MW and I am able to play in full 1366 x 768 or 1360 x 768 without any stutter that I can tell.

The wireless N is super fast with great rasnge from any where in our house.

Cons:
It's heavy compare to other 13.3"
No BT (I read another site that there is room to add a BT card)
Battery life is not 10 hrs. So far the best I am getting is just a little over 5hrs with the screen brigtness down 3 notches from the brightest, wifi, internet browser and a few office programs. I think I can get 6 hrs if i turn off wifi and kill the screen brightness one more notch (I will experiment but 5 hrs is fine for now). This is where the Asus UL30 shines with its 8+ hrs with the same setting.
HP bloatware. it took about 2 hours to get rid of all traces of the crap they put on this thing.
Another annoyance is the battery meter. I don't know why HP does not allow windows default battery monitor to give the estimated time rather than just the % left.I downloaded battery bar and it's works great but that's something they should have left alone. I understand that all HP does this.

On the fence:

Not sure about the touch pad. The tracking/accuracy is not as bad as what everyone is saying but I don't like the mirror finish, which attracts finger prints and I can see my ugly mug every time I look down.

I use an external mouse 90% of the time with a Nano receiver.

Overall, I am glad I returned the Asus for the HP.

Some concerns from others regarding the DM3:

I have had no freezing coming out of hibernation and no crackling sound from speakers.

I also have the newest drivers from HP and new Bios.

I will give it a 8/10.
